Has there ever been an instance where a racing team has used one of its cars to purposely crash out a competitor so that their other driver could pull ahead? Or any other foul play like that? I'm just curious because my friend and I used to do that a lot in some NASCAR game we used to play together... He'd race legitimately, and I'd take down his opponents one-by-one. Then since I'd be the only one serving the black flags, he'd end up finishing like ten laps ahead of second place.

Idk much about NASCAR but I do know that Alain Prost took senna out under very suspicious circumstances to win a title, and then a similar thing happening the next year at the exact same track (Suzuka I think). Also in the ballad of Ricky bobby they use shake and bake though that isn't really the same as what you suggest. Also, in the F1 game for Xbox I always take people out but I have to be clever about it so I don't get penalized, it's very fun

Nelson Piquet Jr. intentionally crashed in Singapore in 2008 to give Alonso a win.

A few situations on F1 come to mind.
Nelson Piquet Jr. famously tossed his Renault into a wall to cause a SC which would benefit his teammate, Fernando Alonso (Singapore 2008).
Schumacher has had suspicious crashes a couple of times with title rivals too, albeit for his own benefit rather his teammate's.

Spinning Alonso or Vettel in the first turn is just part of the game. Or as the Euros call it:
tactics.
I was never good enough at that game to play online, though I've faithfully bought every iteration, because I think they nailed the cockpit view and feel of F1.

Didn't senna intentional wreck Prost to secure the championship for himself?

I only have F1 2012 and it's awesome. The key is to get in front of someone on a straight then slow just enough so their front wheels get ahead of your rear wheels then just move sideways into them. Also if your at a hard braking corner if you stop the guy behind usually rams you and destroys his own car

Priceless. This is the way racing games have always been, and ever shall be.
The man that comes up with an AI that can flag aggressors but forgive accidents gets my $60 for his racing game.

That was exactly what I was thinking of.
